Britney Spears Releases "Ooh La La" & Talks New Album A month to date after it leaked online, Britney Spears' bubblegummy single "Ooh La La" was officially released Monday morning on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. The song is Spears' contribution to the upcoming soundtrack for "The Smurfs" and will play over the end credits when the movie hits theaters July 31. Spears announced the ditty two months ago, calling it "Smurftastic." Spears also updated Seacrest on the progress of her upcoming eighth album, which she and previously announced producer Will.i.am are in the "beginning stages" of formulating. "I want to definitely take this album and have a new approach with it and make it a little different than anything I've ever done," she said. "Will has a lot of really interesting different tracks that I've listened to that are really cool that I haven't actually written on yet, but there's a lot of guitar and I think people will be surprised with this album. It's gong to be really different."The singer also revealed she'll begin working with William Orbit, the Grammy-winning producer behind Madonna's "Ray of Light," starting next week. "I've never worked with him before so I'm really, really excited."As to when fans will be able to hear more new music, Spears added, "by the end of the year." She also revealed that her much-discussed Las Vegas residency still isn't locked in yet. "It's quite possible, yes, [but] nothing's confirmed yet." Source

‘Running Blind’: Rihanna Responds To Reported Britney Spears DuetOne’s one of the greatest Pop acts to ever grace the genre, and the other…. a serial chart topper with more #1 singles that many a naysayer could fathom. Now, after watching their first duet ‘S&M (Remix)’ peak at # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Rihanna has responded to reports that has teamed up with Britney Spears for a second duet. This time….on a guitar driven ballad. Details below… Yesterday afternoon, users of Spears’ biggest fan site 'Breathe Heavy' were whipped into a frenzy when numerous reports across the web claimed that Rihanna had called on the icon to record a cut named, ‘Running Blind’. Reportedly recorded in aid of a new project by the 'Let Me' singer, claims the alleged duet took an interesting turn when the pair’s respective fan bases unearthed a cut of the same name…originally recorded by their mutual collaborator Elijah Blake for his debut EP 'Bijoux 22'. Quite interestingly, in digging for more details on the supposed sing-off, these fans swarmed Rihanna’s ‘BadGalRiri’ Instagram page for answers, when it emerged that Blake had been enlisted to pen material for Britney’s 8th studio album after crafting the song 'No Love Allowed' for Ri’s ‘Unapologetic’. Refusing to deny the report, she said the following when quizzed: If accurate, the pair’s duet would mark a bold yet trend aware turn for both acts, following the success of Fenty’s Triple Platinum single 'Stay', and after the critical acclaim afforded to Britney's 2004 smash hit ‘Everytime’. bcove.me/1zabjzumKeep it locked on That Grape Juice for more on this unconfirmed report. William Orbit Lifts Lid On New Britney Spears Album: ‘She Doesn’t Need Autotune’Last December, fans of ‘I Run Away’ singer Britney Spears landed fresh details on her new album, when ‘Vendetta’ star Elijah Blake revealed that he had been enlisted to help craft it…and shared it’d be her most personal release to date. Now, in echoing those sentiments, the man behind Madonna‘s ‘Ray of Light’ ( William Orbit) has poured fresh details on the hotly anticipated release, revealing that it’ll be void of auto-tune and packed with ‘great singing’. More below… Responsible for creating many an Adult Contemporary hit, Orbit said of his work on Britney’s eighth studio release: As digits generated by 'Scream & Shout' prove, Britney has no problem shifting singles. What we’re most interested in, is how the writers and producers called on to make the album find a balance between the personal and the commercial- and how much control Orbit is really being given to create masterpieces for her. For that’s what they’ll be…masterpieces. Truth be told, with Max Martin and Dr. Luke merely a phone call away, there’s no doubt she’ll have little trouble picking up a few hit singles but the LP’s real glory will lie in its other material. This, especially if she’s given the chance to use her lower register, and compensate for the lack of auto-tune with harmonies and layering! ThatGrapeJuice
