Must Hear: Christina Aguilera Tells All On ‘Lotus’ AlbumIf the last few years have proved anything, it is that Christina Aguilera‘s fan base is far stronger than initially perceived. Revitalizing interest in the singer’s career during one of it’s more difficult points, this year has seen ‘XTina’s Fighters’ popularity soar just in time for the release of Aguilera’s new LP ‘Lotus‘. So, as a thank you for their endless support, she took to KIIS FM today to share details on the new LP with them, spilling everything from song titles to what fans can expect from her ‘Your Body‘ visual. Her words below… Light hearted and upbeat, it’s safe to say Ms. Aguilera is just as excited for her new era as her fans are. Seriously, while some of her fans may choose to deny it, a primary factor in ‘Bionic‘s untimely demise can be put down to the media’s emphasis on her alleged ‘pregnant dogy side’, billed as a envious villainess unable to compete with the then fresh faced Lady GaGa. Now, with a hot first single, a die hard fan base and a softer image courtesy of ‘The Voice‘, Christina has no choice but to enjoy success with ‘Lotus‘… even if it doesn’t enjoy mind blowing first week sales. Here’s to its success! [URL=http://thatgrapejuice.net/2012/09/fourth-quarter-album-buying-2/'Support Christina in our ‘Fourth Quarter’ poll here![/URL] ThatGrapeJuice

Watch: Christina Aguilera Unleashes ‘Your Body’ Preview Now would certainly be the time to get very excited. For, moments ago, ‘Dirrty’ diva Christina Aguilera unveiled a clip of the visual to her long-awaited comeback single ‘Your Body’. Indeed sending fans into a frenzy, the ‘Genie In a Bottle’ beauty granted access to NBC’s ‘The Voice’ – where she sits as resident talent judge. Now, fans can be the judge and decide if the Melina Matsoukas-directed clip is just what she needs to resume her reign atop charts: We will reserve all judgment until the video premieres in its entirety. But, it looks like Xtina may be onto a scorcher with this one! Tidbit: Here’s hoping the video does not turn out to be a ‘We Found Love’ pt 2. With Melina at the wheel, the similarities are already quite noticeable. ThatGrapeJuice

Lady GaGa To Christina Aguilera: “Seems The Old Christina Has Returned”Lady GaGa vs Christina Aguilera. It was the feud that never quite happened, yet left a trail of carnage in its path nonetheless. All it took was a pocket of suggestive comments from The Voice coach on her then-rising rival, and just like that the media pulled the plug on her underrated ‘Bionic’ LP. Fast forward two years and the climate is altogether different for both ladies. Lady GaGa is…well..Lady GaGa, while Christina looks poised to stage a major comeback with new single ‘Your Body’. It appears the song, which has rocketed to #4 on iTunes after just one day, has also caught the attention of GaGa – who took to Twitter today to address it and Xtina herself. Find out what she had to say below… A somewhat backhanded compliment, yet a compliment nonetheless. With GaGa boasting almost 30 million followers on Twitter, it’s unlikely Christina will have any complaints. Get that promo! ThatGrapeJuice

Christina Aguilera Opens Up On ‘Bionic’ / Reveals New SongDespite being one of Pop’s stronger pieces, Christina Aguilera‘s 2010 effort ‘Bionic‘ found itself shunned and overlooked, as a result of the negative press the vocalist fell prey to at the time. Failing to soar commercially, it would take two years for the album to earn the respect its currently being afforded, following Aguilera’s successful stint on ‘The Voice’. Now, she has spoken openly on the era. Her estimation below… Speaking to Billboard: “With Bionic I fully went in there with [the idea], “I’m going to experiment and not be commercial or pop.” I wanted to play with different sounds and textures of my voice while bringing an electronica feel to it because that’s what I was listening to a lot at the time. And it was a blast.I can proudly say it was ahead of its time, to be honest. It wasn’t so commercialized. You had to really be a music lover, be a true fan of music and the love of being open to really appreciate that record. It’s just a special piece in my body of work that will forever live on. The older the record gets the more people will come to appreciate it actually and check it out.”Her conversation with the publication also announce the name of a new song, which features on her forthcoming LP ‘Lotus’. She announced: “Absolutely. There’s a song called “Army of Me,” which is sort of a “Fighter 2.0.” There is a new generation of fans from a younger demographic that might not have been with me all the way but that watch me on the show now. I feel like every generation should be able to enjoy and have their piece of “Fighter” within. This time, the way it musically came together it just felt right for this time and this generation. There’s always going to be a fighter in me getting through some obstacle and some hurdle.” As we touched on here, ‘Bionic’ is anything but the ‘trash’ many Aguilera detractors would have the masses believe. Of course, though the handling of ‘Not Myself Tonight’ did little to help cause either, ‘Bionic’s only fault is that it was released in a time where Christina was Pop’s public enemy #1. Therefore, if she is to launch a tour in support of ‘Lotus’, we hope jams like ‘Woohoo’ and ‘Prima Donna‘ find themselves in the set list, and given the exposure that evaded them two years ago. Christina Aguilera Talks Britney Spears, ‘Bionic’, & More With BillboardAs previously reported, ‘Your Body’ beauty Christina Aguilera covers the latest issue of Billboard magazine. Readying what is said to be a media onslaught – beginning with the visual release for her latest single – Aguilera undoubtedly as her aim set for the top of charts. And, if fan response to her new album ‘Lotus’ (November 13) lead single is any indication, she may be well on her way. Alas, taking to Billboard, the singer directly addresses her thoughts on the failure of its predecessor ‘Bionic’ as well as her ‘diva’ showdown with former “rival” Britney Spears (X Factor). Candid as ever, get into what Xtina shared below: Via Billboard: On why she named her album “Lotus”: This album represents a celebration of the new me, and to me the lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years. And now I’m at a place at 31, where the last time I felt this way was when I was 21 with Stripped and I had a lot to say and a lot to express. On how “Lotus” compares to “Stripped”: There’s a song called “Army of Me,” which is sort of a “Fighter 2.0.” There is a new generation of fans from a younger demographic that might not have been with me all the way but that watch me on the show now. I feel like every generation should be able to enjoy and have their piece of “Fighter” within. This time, the way it musically came together it just felt right for this time and this generation. On what she learned from the “Bionic” era: With Bionic I fully went in there with [the idea], “I’m going to experiment and not be commercial or pop.” I wanted to play with different sounds and textures of my voice while bringing an electronica feel to it because that’s what I was listening to a lot at the time. And it was a blast. On how she feels about “Bionic’s” sales performance: I can proudly say it was ahead of its time, to be honest. It wasn’t so commercialized. You had to really be a music lover, be a true fan of music and the love of being open to really appreciate that record. It’s just a special piece in my body of work that will forever live on. The older the record gets the more people will come to appreciate it actually and check it out. On working with Max Martin: [laughs] Max is legendary in the business. He’s known about me but we haven’t crossed paths. I think when I came in you heard his name with Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync, Britney Spears — those records were the kind I wanted to stray apart from. If you look at what I did in the past [after my debut], I always try to do things that will challenge me and challenge the listener, too. Could this have worked 10 years ago? I’m not sure. It’s taken us a decade in the same business and watching each other from a distance, so for us to now come together and respect each other’s work ethic and how we like to be heard and making a marriage out of it, I think “Your Body” is the best culmination of that. On if she’ll be watching Britney Spears on X Factor: [Laughs] I have no time to even watch my own show. So there’s your answer. ****** Read the interview in its entirety here. ThatGrapeJuice

New Video: Christina Aguilera – ‘Your Body’ She made us wait some time, but it seems she’s finally ready. For tonight, after weeks of teasing us, Christina Aguilera has finally put out… the scorching visual for the smash hit single ‘Your Body‘. Get all the way into it below… We love it! Sure, though the clip could have done with choreography just as severe as the cut itself, ‘Your Body’ most definitely lives up to the hype. Sexy without ever being gratuitous, Christina delivered fire from start to finish- service the song the justice it deserved with a theme we’re glad was kept under wraps. Of course, by way of it similarities to Lady GaGa‘s ‘Telephone’ we’re sure heated comparisons between the two will come sooner than many a ‘Fighter’ would have hoped. However, as the song’s buzz, push and above video proves, the ‘Genie’ gem has very little to worry about if subsequent releases are just as in tact. In short… ThatGrapeJuice
