Ok two days ago on Facebook my long lost dad found me. I haven't seen him since i was two. I think he beat my mom back then i'm not sure so we left him. My brother doesn't want to talk to him but i do, is that wrong that i want to talk to him? I blame myself for him and my mom's divorce even though i was 2 at the time because i got an unexplainable brain disease that affected my entire body to where i couldn't move. And then i got better at 6 years old after a lot of prayer and physical therapy. Is it wrong for me to want to talk to him. I never knew what it was like to have a dad. I mean if he beat my mother would it be wrong to do this even though he's my dad?

First of all, don't feel guilty for having that curiosity and wanting to have a 'dad' or some sort of father figure. It's only natural to feel this way when you haven't had that sort of figure in your life. Is your mother aware that he's back in your life?

Yes i told her and she's not to happy about it. Now I feel i did something really bad. She told me he did beat her and tried to kill her with a gun which made me sad and angry.

Allina, their divorce wasn't ur fault at all. You were a child. You had no control over your brain disease. It's not wrong wanting to see your father and talk to him. I think it's only natural. I know your mother is bothered by it, but you have your reasons. You grew up without him, so you have a lot of questions. I don't think you're wrong at all.

No its not wrong, and you can at least hear his side of the story. Maybe he's a changed man. He surely thought of you.. so give it a go

if you have a question then it's fine to ask him but if your mother think you shouldn't contact him she should tell you if there are any danger in doing so since she knows him better than you do
