Beyonce Owns NYC In "4 Intimate Nights With Beyoncé" Concert Debut There aren't many artists in the world that can pull off a 90-minute set in Stuart Weitzman heels and leave a beyond packed audience satisfied to the point of not needing an encore. But that's Beyoncé. Last night (August 14), the singer kicked off the first of four nights in her sold-out concert series, "4 Intimate Nights with Beyoncé" at the Roseland Ballroom. The 2,500 capacity venue in NYC swelled up within seconds of doors opening at 8 p.m. EST. As the lights dimmed close to 10 p.m. EST, fans' lit up the room with camera phones to welcome Bey' on to the stage. "I just want to have a good time with y'all," Beyoncé said before kicking off the show with a cover of Michael Jackson's "I Wanna Be Where You Are." Beyoncé ran through her catalogue including choruses from Destiny's Child's hits, solo No. 1s, and her fourth album, "4," while sharing the fails (dropped from Elektra Records) and successes (signed by Columbia Records) of her career, starting from the knee-high age of 5 yrs. old. With the exclusion of "Start Over," Beyoncé brought each song from "4," to life with an all femme orchestra. Bey' slow-winded to "Party" as the crowd swayed their arms back and forth and stretched out the "y" to every other verse. Fans took the liberty to create individual dances in every pocket of the stadium to her "very experimental" track, "Countdown."Beyoncé closed her set with the introspective "I Was Here," but not before the congregation of Bey' fist-pumped to her first single of the new record, "Run the World (Girls)."Source

Jay-Z Calls Beyonce "The Second Coming of Michael Jackson" Jay-Z called into Miami's radio station 99 Jamz to talk to Lorenzo "Ice Tea" Thomas on the title and delivery of "Watch the Throne," and what he's learned from his wife, Beyoncé. While in Miami Sunday night, Jay-Z's main lady kicked off the first sold out show of her four shows concert series "4 Intimate Nights with Beyonce." Jay-Z spoke on what he has learned and admires of Bey's artistry. "What I've learned from her [Beyoncé] is the same thing I learned from Mike [Michael Jackson]," Hov says. "I know that it's blasphemy of me to compare the two because Mike was such an innovator. But I think she's like the second coming. The hard work and the dedication that she puts into her show… it just makes you want to work harder at your craft. She's like a machine."Before embarking on his and West's 'Watch the Throne' tour in the fall Jay will hit the stage at iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, NV on Sept. 23 and 24. The lineup includes heavy hitters as Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Carrie Underwood and more. Source

i hate when people compare others to mj/mj's body of work. "*insert name here* is the second coming of mj", or "*insert album here* is my thriller/off the wall."

Beyonce Ranks No. 1 Celebrity Fragrance Beyonce's debut perfume Heat has been ranked as the top-selling celebrity scent in the UK. "Celebrity fragrances remain top of the wish list," says The Fragrance Shop manager, Sanjay Vadera. The fiery fragrance from the "Single Ladies" hitmaker has been described as a mixture of floral, fruity and woody with tones of milkwood and tonka bean. Heat has out-sold fragrances from peers such as Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and more. Her fragrance even topped British "it" couple David and Victoria Beckham who came in at number three and ten, respectively. When asked about her newest perfume, Heat Rush, Beyonce revealed that this is a scent she cannot leave home without. "I feel like fragrance is one of the most important accessories a woman can have - it's sexy, it says something, and it's that final touch, like putting on a gorgeous pair of stilettos," she says.
