Nick Cannon On Mariah Carey Idol Rumors Mariah Carey was recently rumored in reports that claimed she was being replaced as an American Idol judge and her husband Nick Cannon is letting it be known how that will impact his family. The Hollywood Reporter allegedly garnered a source confirming rumors that American Idol producers were looking to replace Carey,43, with Jennifer Lopez, the 43-year-old singer, dancer and actress who served as a judge on the nationally televised singing competition in the past. However, Cannon, the 32-year-old media personality and Nickelodeon executive, said his wife is not worried about her future with the show. "Whatever happens with that show, I think she's had a great time. But she's a global superstar. I don't think she's ever in need of a job," Cannon told Access Hollywood recently. "She made a decision to do that show because she really wanted to connect with the contestants. I don't think she's thinking about the future of it."Fantasia Barrino, the 28-year-old singer who won the third season of American Idol in 2004, expressed her opinion about the rumors concerning the current and former judge. "I mean Mariah Carey she is music ... it's always good to have somebody that can hold weight like she does on American Idol. I was a little nervous singing in front of her," Barrino revealed to VH1. "I would say bring J.Lo on, but don't take Mariah off."Source

Mariah vs. Idol: Carey Books GMA to Launch New Single Do I know what's going on at American Idol? I know what you know. But I also know what was said today. Mariah Carey, American Idol judge, is launching her new single not on the Idol finale but on Good Morning America. She’s booked for May 24th, eight days after the Idol finale. Carey is not scheduled to sing on Idol and she hasn't all season. Both Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez used Idol to launch singles a year ago. And Keith Urban has performed this season. But Carey has remained behind the judges' desk, even though she has a single- "Almost Home" - from Oz the Great and Powerful, a major box office hit. Suffice to say, something is rotten in Hollywood. Oz was a huge hit. Singing the single on Idol would have been the proper synergy. Instead, "Home" disappeared and no mention of it was made on Idol. Carey’s new single is going to be hot, too-it's a duet with new star Miguel. But there's a lot going on in the background. GMA is #1, and Idol ratings are the lowest they've ever been. It's unclear whether Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe even wants Carey to perform. Or whether Carey, unhappy with the way the show has gone for her, would ever deign to get up on their stage. Now American Idol still has four weeks to go, that's eight shows. And on May 8th it goes up against The Voice on NBC- the ratings report the next morning is going to be wild. So stay tuned. And never bet against Mariah. She will be around long after American Idol has named its final winner. Source

Mariah Carey To Sing Medley of Hits on 'Idol' Finale? Mariah Carey will apparently sing a medley of her hits – and there are a lot of them – on the season finale of American Idol on May 16th. Carey hasn't performed on Idol this season yet. But she will debut her new video fir her single featuring Miguel, called "#Beautiful," on Wednesday's Idol May 8th. The single is already a huge hit after just a day or more in release. "Beautiful" was picked up by 65 Top 40 stations and a bunch more today. You can hear it literally in every major market right now, which means by the Idol finale "Beautiful" may be another Mariah Carey No.1 song. It should make an impressive debut on next week's Hot 100 after its first full week of sales, along with its streaming data, are added to next week's Hot 100 tabulation. Source

Mariah Carey Drops Fellow 'Idol' Judge Randy Jackson As ManagerRandy Jackson, the judge who helped Mariah Carey join his ranks on "American Idol" — at a record-setting sum, no less — is no longer the iconic singer's manager. Jackson, who first met Carey in the 1990s as an A&R man for Columbia Records, helped broker her deal to join "Idol" for $18 million, but after a tumultuous season marred by disagreements, feuds and rumors, he may be saying goodbye to his fellow judge as well as his former client, Showbiz411 reported Wednesday (May 8). Carey released new single "#Beautiful" earlier this week and signed a contract with Red Light Management, which represents such acts as Radiohead, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Alicia Keys and more. Showbiz411 reported that "hectic" schedules were the cause of her departure from Jackson, who has managed her since 2011. Whether Jackson is helping her with future endeavors, Carey appears to have her hands full. "#Beautiful," which features Miguel, is the first single from a new album, her 14th. She also has a role in Lee Daniels' upcoming film "The Butler," which marks her second collaboration with the director after appearing in "Precious." Source

Mariah Carey Planning a World Tour? While rumors swirl about Mariah Carey's future on American Idol, one thing is certain: She has "beautiful" plans ahead! On the heels of her buzzed-about new single with Miguel, "#Beautiful," a source tells Us Weekly that the singer is in the midst of planning a brand new world tour. "Due to the smash success of '#Beautiful,'" fans are clamoring as Mariah makes plans for a world tour," the source explains to Us. So far, "#Beautiful" has hit number one in 25 countries and the top five in 45. The mom to 2-year-old twins, Morocco and Monroe, has yet to comment on a recent report that she won't be returning to the American Idol judging panel after just one season on the FOX series. While Randy Jackson announced his departure on Thursday, May 9th, after 12 seasons with the show, The Wrap claims that Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban have all supposedly been fired. The tour would be the Grammy winner's first global trek since 2004, when she was on her Charmbracelet world tour. In 2010, she jet-set on her Angels Advocate tour, where she performed in the U.S., Egypt, Brazil and Singapore. Source
