Surpassing sales of Justin Bieberes eBeauty & A Beatf and Nicki Minajfs eVa Va Voomf, the cut serves as the first lead single from her latest LP eLotusf which hits US and UK outlets November 13th. Herefs hoping this prompts the folk over at RCA to up their promo ante for both the album and single. Finally: Christina Aguilera Confirms New Performances Prayer most certainly is the key. Fans of Christina Aguilera have hoped in earnest for news on promotional plans for the singer’s new album, ‘Lotus’. And while relative silence has greeted many of those questions, a new interview and press release has provided an emphatic answer. Details after the jump… In a new interview with Access Hollywood, the 31 year old confirmed that she’ll be performing album cut ‘Make The World Move’ on tomorrow’s episode of The Voice with fellow coach Cee-Lo Green. Next month will also see her take to the stage with the show’s other coach Blake Shelton to perform their ‘Lotus’ duet ‘Just A Fool’ - although the exact whereabouts of the stage that showcase will take place on is presently unknown: COACH CHRISTINA AGUILERA PERFORMS ‘MAKE THE WORLD MOVE’ FEATURING FELLOW COACH CEELO GREEN ON NBC’S ‘The Voice’ LIVE RESULTS SHOW ON NOVEMBER 13 NBC’S ‘The Voice’ WILL FEATURE GUEST ARTISTS 50 CENT, JASON ALDEAN AND RASCAL FLATTS WHO JOIN MUSICIAN COACHES AND THEIR TEAMS FOR LIVE GROUP PERFORMANCES ON NOVEMBER 13, 20 AND 26 UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – November 12, 2012 – On the November 13 episode of “The Voice” Live Results Show, Christina Aguilera will hit the stage with fellow musician coach CeeLo Green to perform “Make the World Move.” The song is from her highly anticipated album, “Lotus” which will be released the same day www.itunes.com/lotus. ************* While a number of things about the album’s promotional push still perplex us, it’s hard to deny that the Voice slot is just what the promo Dr ordered. With almost 15 million viewers tuning into each episode, should even 1.5% of the audience purchase ‘Lotus’, Christina could be in-line for potentially strong first-week numbers. Especially, when also factoring in her much-hyped American Music Awards performance slot on Sunday. The prospect of this almost-perfect synergy makes us so excited that we almost forgive the fact that it’s not ‘Your Body’ that’s she’s performing instead (let’s hope she’s saving that for AMA instead, as opposed to binning it altogether) What will be particularly interesting, though, is the album’s performance beyond it’s initial week. It appears Team Xtina have that on mind too. For, it has been confirmed that ‘Lotus’ will be retailing for $5 in Walmart in a special Black Friday promotion during its second week on sale. Paired with visits to other LA-based shows (such as Ellen, Kimmel and co), there may just be a plan in place to ensure the album has legs over the Holidays. Anyway, enough of our hypothesis… ThatGrapeJuice

Must Hear: Christina Aguilera – ‘Just A Fool (Ft Blake Shelton)’Two years after the release of her #1 album ‘Bionic‘, this week welcomed the release of Christina Aguilera’s new album ‘Lotus‘. A vocal driven serving of Premium Pop, the project has already spawned the Pop smash ‘Your Body‘ and her budding hit ‘Make The World Move’, featuring Cee-Lo Green. However, for anyone who’s been keeping up with this week’s iTunes tally, it is her Claude Kelly penned love song ‘Just A Fool’ that now shines as her brightest cut on the album, hitting the Top 20 sans the promotion afforded to ‘Body’. So, if you haven’t heard the song- which features Country star Blake Shelton- we’d seriously suggest you get all the way into it below… ThatGrapeJuice

Christina Aguilera Blazes iTunes With ‘Just A Fool’ Christina Aguilera has another hit on her hands! Yes, in what should see the number pushed as the next single to be released from her new album ‘Lotus’, her Claude Kelly crafted song ‘Just A Fool’ has continued to ascend on iTunes today… a testament to its bourgeoning popularity. Details below… Despite given little to no push from the singer, the number wowed audiences today when it peaked at #15 on the iTunes singles tally, surpassing her Dance centric cut ‘Let There Be Love‘(#81) and ‘Your Body’ which currently stands at #73. A clear indication as to where RCA should be heading with the project, the release- if its digital run is anything to go by- will score the highest peak position scored by any song pulled from the album. Sales Predictions Are In: Christina Aguilera¡¯s ¡®Lotus¡¯ Set To Sell¡ As one of the most hotly anticipated Pop releases of the year, all eyes -naturally- are on the commercial performance of Christina Aguilera¡®s new album ¡®Lotus¡¯. Preceded by the anthemic ¡®Your Body¡¯, the prelude to the set¡¯s release has left both fans and critics somewhat puzzled. For, it was not until the day of release was a performance aired in support of the LP, with the existence of any more (beyond this Sunday¡¯s American Music Awards) remaining an Unsolved Mystery. Alas, the first week estimations of the LP, Aguilera¡¯s first since 2010¡äs ¡®Bionic¡¯, make for an interesting read. See what we mean below¡ According to the ever reliable Hits Daily Double, ¡®Lotus¡¯ is on-course to debut within the top ten of the Billboard 200 with sales of¡ 75,000 ¨C 80,000 Ahead of her are Brit-Pop sensations One Direction whose sophomore set ¡®Take Me Home¡¯ is headed for the top spot with a whopping 525k-575k units shifted. Interestingly, Aguilera is also being outsold by The Weeknd and his LP ¡®Trilogy¡¯ (95k-105k), as well as the soundtrack to ¡®Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 2¡ä (85k-90k). ********* Oh the confusion. It¡¯s as clear as Cassie¡¯s lack of talent that something is going on with Xtina¡¯s campaign. Let¡¯s keep it all the way 100. Where are the magazine covers, live performances, talk show rounds? And while all we can do is speculate at this point, we hope what ever issues are on-going can be ironed out with the swiftness. For, it¡¯d be entirely unfortunate for ¡®Lotus¡¯ to not max out its commercial potential. As we signified in our review and as the iTunes charts show, the LP is packed with plausible chart-smashes; it¡¯d be criminal if they were robbed of the chance to garner the shine they deserve. Again, it¡¯s important to stress that few (bar those close to the project) have an inkling as to what¡¯s really going down. Hence finger pointing towards the label, management, or Christina herself is arguably futile. We just hope the masses aren¡¯t left waiting for ions for either an answer or a resolution. Because, as Xtina¡¯s estimates show: we¡¯re in a recession ¨C album don¡¯t sell themselves. And sure don¡¯t sell on the basis of name alone. ThatGrapeJuice

Christina Aguilera’s Next ‘Lotus’ Single ConfirmedAfter ample debate and speculation, Christina Aguilera‘s team have finally confirmed which song from her ‘Lotus’ LP will be awarded the single treatment. Without further adeiu… As per RCA, the follow-up to ‘Your Body’ is… Just A Fool (ft. Blake Shelton) ********* Yes, yes, and yes! Having hit #13 on iTunes without any form of push, it was overtly clear what Aguilera’s fans and more importantly the general public wanted as the LP’s next offering. ‘Your Body’ may have peaked at a respectable #34 on the Hot 100 (without a single performance to back it, we must add), but with the industry being what it is and Aguilera needing a hit at all-costs, this was not just the right decision but (honestly) the only decision. A decision we’re glad Team Xtina made, as -having done “this” for almost 6 years – we’ve seen many an obvious single choice ignored, ultimately leading to the premature death of many a promising project. Here’s hoping the Claude Kelly penned cut helps give ‘Lotus’ legs so as to strut towards the upper echelon of the album tally – even if it’s a slow, yet eventual rise. ThatGrapeJuice

Christina Aguilera Sets Radio Release For ‘Just A Fool’Christina Aguilera is wasting no time with the release of the second single from her ‘Lotus’ LP. As reported yesterday, the Blake Shelton assisted ‘Just A Fool’ has been confirmed as the follow-up to ‘Your Body’ (which peaked at #34 on the Billboard Hot 100). Now, less than 24 hours later, the track has has been awarded an official “impact date” for radio. Find out when you can the Claude Kelly penned cut will be hitting airwaves below… According to FMQB, ‘Just A Fool’ will hit US Mainstream /Top 40 radio on December 4th. ****** Again, kudos to Christina’s team for being both reactive and proactive in the handling of the track – which reached #13 on iTunes without any form of push. Still holding strong in the top 20 of the tally, Christina and Blake’s confirmed performance together on The Voice will no doubt give the track an added boost. Pair with this Blake’s unparalleled popularity in the Country-Pop arena and Xtina could well be onto a hit…if she keeps playing her cards smart. ThatGrapeJuice

‘Lotus’: Christina Aguilera Bares All On ‘DateLine’With her new album ‘Lotus’ out in stores now, Christina Aguilera caught up with the folks over at ‘Dateline‘ for an undeniably thought provoking interview. Though initially appearing to be a piece on the new album and her role on the hit show ‘The Voice’, the episode soon takes a serious turn when the singer opens up on her difficult childhood which saw her mother suffer at the hands of an abusive father, and her turbulent journey as one of Pop’s most polarizing celebrities. Watch the inspiring interview below… ThatGrapeJuice

First Week Sales Are In: Christina Aguilera¡¯s ¡®Lotus¡¯ Sold¡ In perhaps her strangest launch campaign yet, Christina Aguilera¡®s ¡®Lotus¡¯ has been the subject of ample debate as of late. Though a stellar album, the lack of live performances to push it have raised many an eyebrow, as too have the lack of magazine covers, radio interviews and other promo vehicles. All factors which contribute to the project¡¯s first week sales. Find out what they are after the jump.. According to the ever-reliable Hits Daily Double, ¡®Lotus¡¯ will open at #7 on the Billboard 200 with sales of¡ 73,408 There¡¯s little spin that can take away from the fact that the figure represents the lowest debut numbers from Xtina¡¯s solid-selling catalogue. Indeed, the figure is even trounced by the 110,000 opening of 2010¡äs criminally underrated ¡®Bionic¡¯ album. Still, what the latter didn¡¯t have was a hit ¨C something ¡®Lotus¡¯ seems to be strutting towards with its second offering ¡®Just A Fool (ft. Blake Shelton)¡¯. For, having already shown its potential on iTunes upon initial release of the album, the song rocketed into the top 20 of the digital tally again last night following Christina and Blake¡¯s live showing on The Voice. ¡®Lotus¡¯ climbed two spots to #14 too following the performance too. While everyone loves a great comeback story, the reality is that it often takes time to rebuild a brand. Indeed, one needn¡¯t look further than Aguilera¡¯s rival and apt comparator Mariah Carey. Like ¡®Bionic¡¯, 2001¡äs ¡®Glitter¡¯ was certified Triple Tin Foil, while 2002¡äs intended ¡°comeback¡± ¡®Charmbracelet¡¯ didn¡¯t fare much better. It wasn¡¯t until 2005¡äs ¡®Emancipation Of Mimi¡¯ that Mariah¡¯s commercial viability was restored. Looking at Christina¡¯s current predicament, we see a similar ¡°slowly, but surely¡± climb. What we are sure of, though, is that she will have her ¡°moment¡± again ¨C be it this ¡°era¡±, next, or somewhere down the line. Gifts like hers are too rare a find. From our vantage point, it¡¯s now down to Christina and her team to establish a successful ¡°face¡± of the project, be it with successful singles, touring, steady album sales; or, if they¡¯re up for the challenge, all of the above. No more lengthy gaps between projects either. For, at her peak (which wasn¡¯t actually that long ago), Xtina was cruising towards a brand of stardom that was ever-lasting. Just like Britney¡®s and Beyonce¡®s of the world. Yet breaks and knock-backs have thrown things off somewhat. She¡¯s now tasked with getting back in the saddle and shutting down the naysayers ¨C not just by lyric, but by action. We wish her the best of luck! ThatGrapeJuice

Christina Aguilera Scores Billboard #1 With ‘Your Body’ It’s common-knowledge that Christina Aguilera‘s ‘Lotus’ campaign has been rocked by many a speed-bump. Indeed, its lead single ‘Your Body’ was never performed, which led to slow album sales, which ultimately resulted in more media muck being hurled at the singer. However, it appears several positive facets to the project are beginning to emerge – one being the fact that, as of this week, ‘Your Body’ can officially be deemed a chart-topping Billboard hit. Details below… The Max Martin produced cut jumped #2-#1 on this week’s Billboard Dance / Club Chart. And while some may scoff at the “relevance” of the said tally, anyone who’s (even a little) versed in PR will know that a Billboard #1 of any sort is still a Billboard #1 – which ever way its spun. The impressive feat comes in the week the song’s video hit 30 million views on Youtube and when ‘Lotus’ shows evidence of staying power on the album charts. For, according to Hits Daily Double, the LP’s second week run registered an impressive(ly low) 26% drop on its first week figure (75,000) – shifting another 54,119 copies. It’s imperative to underscore the fact that much of said sales are likely attributable to the album being featured in a $5.99 Black Friday deal at US retailers Walmart and Best Buy. Put simply, the true test of whether the project will ultimately sink or swim will be its performance in the weeks and months ahead. Thankfully for Xtina, the said period seems to be just what the Promo Dr ordered. Indeed, December 7th sees her perform on ‘Ellen’, while she also features on Blake Shelton‘s upcoming Christmas TV special. Add to this the fact that The Voice coache’s new single ‘Just A Fool’ is officially sent to radio on December 4th, and the tide seems like it’s turning in the 31 year old’s favour. With The Voice drawing nearer its finale too, here’s hoping Xtina and her team seize any and every promotional opp to ensure ‘Lotus’ maxes out its chart potential. For, echoing earlier sentiments, commercial comeback’s aren’t always as instant as they could or should be. Hence, from our vantage point, Gold certification (500k sold) should be the goal-post here, which -if achieved - creates a sound foundation for Platinum flavoured success with future projects. Needless to say, we’ll be keeping a close eye on how this all plays out. ThatGrapeJuice
