Tasteless Whitney Houston Greeting Card Pulled From TargetTarget retailers have removed from its shelves a greeting card that makes fun of Whitney Houston's choices in men. The card's inside text advises women to be more selective when picking mates. "Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston," the card reads. Bobby Brown, Houston's estranged ex-husband, is believed to be the inspiration behind the card's "bad boy" reference. Houston and Brown were married for 14 years and divorced in 2007. Houston had accused Brown of domestic violence, and some blame Brown for Houston's downward spiral. A backlash began when a picture of the card appeared on Reddit.com after Houston's death. The card, however, was released before Houston died. A spokesperson for Target said the company immediately responded to complaints. "The card was in our stores prior to Ms. Houston's death," the spokesperson told TMZ. "As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores." Houston was found dead in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 11. Y! Whitney Houston's One-of-a-Kind Ginger Rogers Shoes Worth Thousands! As the inevitable hocking of Whitney Houston's estate draws near, the singer had several pieces of memorabilia from classic films. In particular, a pair of Ginger Rogers shoes that are worth a large sum. Like her godmother Aretha Franklin, Whitney collected classic items and the shoes were a gift from David Gest. Gest asked Whitney to perform at the Annual American Cinema Awards in 1993 and she received a five minute standing ovation. The media mogul wanted to give her some Nicholas Brothers memorabilia but Whitney had her eye on something else. So, Gest got up the nerve and asked Ginger herself and the actress and dancer grabbed a pair of her shoes and autographed each one! She wrote "to one of the greatest singers of all time, from your friend Ginger Rogers."Whitney kept the shoes in Plexiglass from that point on and the shoes could be worth thousands! Source

Whitney Houston Leaves Fortune to Bobbi Kristina Whitney Houston's 19-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, will inherit everything from the late singer's estate, based on instructions in Houston's will. Houston's ex-husband, Bobby Brown, the father of Bobbi Kristina, gets nothing. Houston, who died last month at age 48, left all of her money, property, clothing and personal effects to her only child, according to the document dated and signed in 1993, the year Bobbi Kristina was born. Houston's money will be put in a trust. Bobbi Kristina will get part of it upon turning 21, more of the money at age 25 and the balance at age 30. Houston's trustees can give her money from the trust for various purposes, including tuition, to buy a home and to start a business. The will was signed on Feb. 3, 1993, about a month before Houston gave birth to her daughter. Source

Bobbi Kristina: Mom Whitney Houston Talks to Me in Spirit The night after Whitney Houston died, her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown could not bring herself to sleep in her mother's Atlanta mansion. That all changed the next morning. "I woke up and I heard her say, 'All right, come home now,' " Brown told Oprah Winfrey in a TV special Sunday night. "And when I came back home, I felt humble, I felt okay."The singer's only child, 19, says she's now comforted by the spirit of her mother, who died last month at age 48. "I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, 'Keep talking to me. I got you,' " says Brown. "She's always with me. I can always feel her. I can always feel her with me. She always asked me,'Do you need me?' And I caught myself, out of nowhere, I didn't even know I said it, I said, 'I'll always need you.' "Brown – Houston's child with her ex-husband Bobby Brown – says she spent her mother's last day alive in her embrace. "It was so early in the morning. I went to go get her and I said, 'Come lay with me,' " she says. "She stayed with me all night and all day. She was just rubbing my head and holding me. I just slept in her arms."Houston, whose cause of death has not yet been officially determined, was found unresponsive in water in a bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Feb. 11 and later pronounced dead. "I have to carry on the legacy," says Bobbi Kristina. "We're going to do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing."Source

Madonna Talks About The Passing of Whitney HoustonQueen of Pop Madonna, recently gave her thoughts on the passing of pop icon, The Voice, Whitney Houston. While for years the two were touted as rivals as they dominated 80s and 90s charts with few comparison, Madonna took to UK paper The Sun to remember the singer and also share her thoughts on late “blue eyed soulstress” Amy Winehouse. “I, probably like everybody else, was hit by this shocking sense of disbelief – especially with Whitney Houston. It had not been a secret, the struggles Amy had been through — both brilliant, brilliant artists and obviously both huge losses.
“But when these things happen, I’m always shocked by the first thing you say — ‘It’s such a loss’ — which doesn’t quite cover it. Then you reflect and you think, ‘How did it happen? How did the people around them allow it to happen?’ We’ve lost so many great artists that way when you think about it. So history just kind of repeats itself over and over.
“One thing I was struck by with Whitney Houston is I remember she sort of came out as a singer around the same time I did. I remember looking at her singing and hearing people talk about her, and just thinking, ‘Oh my God. She’s such a beautiful woman and my God, what an incredible voice. I wish I could sing like that.I just remember being extremely envious of her and also touched by her innocence.
“I was watching a documentary about Serge Gainsbourg, the French songwriter, and there’s a famous talk show he did that happened a while back when Whitney was just starting. It was funny, because I’d just watched it the week before she died, where he was making a kind of play for her on national television and he was basically saying in French that he wanted to ‘f’ her — and the look of shock on her face…
“I mean, she was so innocent and so young, and so cute, and really she blushed. And I was thinking, ‘We are all innocent at one stage in our life. It’s just interesting, the paths our lives take. I was struck by that — how well she started and where she ended up and the tragedy of it.”Here’s the clip Madonna was speaking of. Starts at the 1:35 mark Source

Bobby Brown To Release Whitney Houston Tell-All?!Bobbi Kristina wanted to partake in Oprah's televised special because—she said—she wanted people to know the truth about Whitney Houston, saying, "She wasn't only a mother, she was a best friend."A touching memory, of course. But Whitney's ex-husband and recent headline generator Bobby Brown might be opening up and sharing secrets about the late songstress for the wrong reasons. And, sources close to Whitney worry the full story might not be a priority either: Of course, this all refers to the possibility of Bobby peddling a "memoir" (one that he had tried to sell a few years ago to no avail, but which publishers would surely have more interest in following Whitney's death). "He's not going to address anything that will cast him in a negative light," a source close to Camp Whitney tells us about rumors of a tell-all. "And that's why people, I don't think, will buy the book. They're going to see that it will most likely be completely self-serving."We think a season's worth of Being Bobby Brown was enough for us—no tell-all needed. And we hear that there's a road block that could legally prevent Bobby from writing anything anyway: "Don't forget he signed the confidentiality agreement [when he and Whitney divorced]," our insider explains. "He may have to get somebody else to write it. A ghostwriter. What am I saying? He's not going to be writing it anyway, of course he'll get somebody else to do it."Source

Whitney Houston Died from Accidental Drowning Whitney Houston's official cause of death was due to accidental drowning, a source close to the investigation tells PEOPLE. The singer, 48, was also found to have cocaine in her system at the time of her death, the source confirms. Contributing factors of her death included heart disease and cocaine use, an investigation found. The Los Angeles County coroner's office confirmed the news Thursday after PEOPLE reported the findings. Houston was found unresponsive and underwater in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Feb. 11, a day before the Grammy Awards, and was pronounced dead at the scene soon afterward. Coroner officials previously confirmed that prescription pill bottles were found in her room, but the number of pills were "not in alarming amounts." Source

Whitney Houston’s Close Friend Admits Removing Evidence From HotelA member of Whitney Houston’s entourage apparently confessed to clearing clothing items from her hotel suite after her death. Raffles van Exel, a Dutch entertainment consultant now living in West Hollywood, admitted he cleaned up Houston’s Beverly Hilton room in an interview with the influential Dutch newspaper The Telegraph Feb. 15. “Someone had to do it,” he told the paper, according to a translation. "The room was empty."Van Exel didn’t detail when he removed the items or exactly what they were. He has not responded to multiple requests for comment from the Daily News. The Zelig-like entertainment guru, formerly friends with Michael Jackson, was photographed with Houston shortly before her death and also attended her funeral in New Jersey. It was last week that Los Angeles County Coroner officials revealed Houston had enough cocaine in her system to contribute to her accidental drowning Feb. 11. They said the pop icon used cocaine "immediately prior" to her collapse in a bathtub, but investigators previously said they found nothing “alarming” beyond some prescription bottles in the room. TMZ.com, citing an unnamed source, said the shadowy figure who furnished the illegal drug scrubbed away any traces before authorities arrived. “We know the levels (in her system) indicate it was an acute use, a recent use,” Chief Coroner Investigator Craig Harvey told the Daily News Friday. He said the cocaine combined with Houston’s heart disease likely caused a “cardiac event” that prevented her from being “able to push herself out of the water.”Houston was a “chronic” cocaine user who suffered a 60% narrowing of her heart arteries, Harvey said. “We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure," Houston’s sister-in-law and manager Patricia Houston said in a statement.
