Final Autopsy Report: Cocaine Found In Whitney Houston's Hotel Room?Detectives found white powdery substances and a sthingy with white residue in the hotel room where Whitney Houston died, according to the final autopsy report released Wednesday. Houston had cocaine throughout her system when she died, the report said, and a "sthingy with a white crystal like substance in it, a rolled up piece of white paper from off the top of a counter along the east wall of the bathroom" were found. The report does not specifically identify the substances as cocaine, although the drug was found in toxicology tests in Houston's heart and extremities. Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said their investigation is still open and he could not comment on the findings. On her final day alive, Houston complained of a sore throat, and an assistant suggested she take a bath before preparing for a pre-Grammy party, according to the report. Toxicology results also showed Houston had marijuana, Xanax, the muscle relaxant Flexeril, and the allergy medication Benadryl in her system. Source

UPDATE: Whitney Houston Found Face Down In Bathtub? On the day she died, Whitney Houston complained of a sore throat, so she decided to take a bath in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton before getting ready for a pre-Grammy party. The singer's assistant left Houston to run an errand at Nieman Marcus. When the assistant returned to the singer's room around 3:35 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 11th, Houston was lying face down in the bathtub in approximately 13-inches of water, according to an autopsy report released Wednesday. The singer was pulled out of the tub by her assistant and bodyguard. When police arrived on the scene, they found multiple bottles of prescription medication and some loose pills scattered around the room. In the bathroom was an astray filled with multiple cigarette butts and "a small sthingy with a white crystal like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper," according to the report. Police End Investigation Into Whitney Houston's Death Police have closed their investigation into Whitney Houston's death without finding any evidence to suggest it was anything than an accidental drowning, investigators announced Wednesday. The Beverly Hills Police Department did not release a detailed report on the case, but Lt. Mark Rosen said the conclusion came after detectives reviewed the complete findings of the coroner's office. Coroner's officials ruled Houston drowned accidentally at the Beverly Hilton on Feb. 11th and that heart disease and cocaine use contributed to her death. Beverly Hills authorities also released a minute-long 911 call made by a hotel worker who summoned police and paramedics to Houston's suite at the hotel. The call revealed few details, other than that people in the Grammy-winning singer's room repeatedly hung up on hotel personnel after discovering Houston in a bathtub. The dispatcher had asked to be patched into the room to deliver lifesaving instructions, but the security worker said that wasn't possible. He said a woman who notified the hotel that Houston was unresponsive was "irate" and didn't provide many details. Houston's death on the eve of the Grammy Awards stunned the world. The singer had been attempting a comeback and had finished work on a remake of the film 'Sparkle' when she drowned. Toxicology results showed cocaine throughout her body, and coroner's officials said the results indicated chronic use. In the bathroom, investigators found a small sthingy described by investigators as having a "crystal-like substance" in it, and they discovered a white powdery substance in a drawer, a coroner's report released last week showed. Her unexpected death at age 48 sparked a renewed interest in her music and movies, sales of which will benefit her only daughter, Bobbi Kristina. Source

Bobby Brown Breaks Silence; Says “I’m Not The Reason Whitney’s Gone”It’s been almost three months since Whitney Houston tragically passed away. And, save for headlines generated at her funeral along with those from a drink-driving arrest, estranged ex Bobby Brown has maintained a notable silence. Until now. Sitting down with Matt Lauer on the Today Show, Brown finally opened up about his former wife’s demise, being blamed for it, his relationship with daughter Bobbi Kristina, his relationship with her, and a whole lot more. Set to air on Wednesday, you can peep interesting soundbites from the feature below … Via Today Show: When asked about the last time he saw Houston, a week or so before she died, Brown says the iconic singer “had this glow about her that was just, you know, incredible. I’m saying to myself, you know, ‘She must be … she must be doing really well,’ because she looked really well.”
Brown says Houston, to whom he was married for 15 years, “looked like she was in a good place.”
Lauer asks Brown how he took the news that cocaine was a likely contributor to the death of Houston, 48, who was found in a bathtub in a Beverly Hills hotel on Feb. 11.
“I was hurt. I was hurt … because, you know, me being off of narcotics for the last seven years, I felt that she was, you know, I didn’t know she was struggling with it still. But at the same time, you know, listen, it’s a hard fight. It’s a hard fight to, you know, maintain sobriety that way.”
Based on his own feelings and how she appeared when he last saw her, Brown theorizes that that one day of cocaine use — not the effects of longterm use — was enough to kill Houston. “It had to be that one, because that’s all it takes,” Brown said. “One hit, you know … it could definitely take your life away from you. And, unfortunately, that was it.”
Lauer pressed the 43-year-old R&B star on the talk after Houston’s death. “If I heard it once, I heard it a hundred times, and I know you heard it too,” Lauer said. “Fans, people who say they were close to Whitney, say her life went downhill when she met Bobby Brown. How does it make you feel when you hear it?”
“It makes me feel terrible,” Brown said. “But you know, I know differently. I think if anyone ever knew us, if anybody ever spent time around us instead of time lookin’ through the bubble, they would know how we felt about each other. They would know how happy we were together.”
Brown says the couple got a wakeup call from starring in the reality TV series “Being Bobby Brown.” “We looked at the bubble and saw ourselves. We was able to see what other people were saying about us, you know? We was able to see that our drug use had affected our relationship, had affected the love that we felt for each other.”
But when asked by Lauer about the popular perception that he is the one responsible for getting Houston hooked on drugs, Brown says, “not true.”
“I didn’t get high [on narcotics] before I met Whitney,” Brown said. “I smoked weed, I drank the beer, but no, I wasn’t the one that got Whitney on drugs at all.” He says drugs were a part of the singer’s life “way before” they got together.
“It’s just … it’s just unexplainable how one could, you know, [say that I] got her addicted to drugs. I’m not the reason she’s gone,” Brown said.********* Do you agree with Bobby? ThatGrapeJuice

Watch: Bobby Brown Talks Whitney Houston’s Death On ‘Today Show’ (Part 1)It’s the interview the world watched and waited for. And yesterday it finally aired. Following in the footsteps of his late wife’s family, Bobby Brown opened up about the shocking death of Whitney Houston. Kudos to him for not doing as some pockets of the media would will him to – i.e. act ratchet. Part 2 will be up soon. ThatGrapeJuice

And, as the world at large begins to process and deal with the mammoth loss, the mood is being altered to one of celebration – courtesy of VH1 Divas. Details after the jump… Via Billboard: VH1 will pay tribute to Whitney Houston for its next installment of ”VH1 Divas,” Billboard has learned. Whitney Houston's Family Signs On The Dotted Line For Reality Show?Reportedly, the Lifetime network has officially greenlit a reality show following the family the late Whitney Houston has left behind. The working title for the 10-episode docu-series is The Houston Family Chronicles and will follow Pat, Whitney’s sister-in-law and longtime manager, Pat’s teenage daughter, Whitney’s brother Gary, and Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina and her mother, Cissy. Though previously rumored that Bobbi Kris would have a show of her own, one of the series' major plot lines WILL be the family coming together to take care of her, as she goes through life without her mom. Lifetime's Executive VP of Programming, Rob Sharenow says: “The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family. In this series, the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love, and grow.”Supposedly, Pat Houston has been working with producers “over the past few years,” to develop a show about the Houston family. Pat states: "The unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show. However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward.”The series will have a total of ten episodes and will premiere in late 2012.

Whitney Houston 2012 BET Tribute Officially ConfirmedDuring the 2012 BET Press Conference, Stephen Hill officially confirmed that there will indeed be a tribute to the late, great Whitney Houston! Ever since the singer passed in February, a multitude of musical tributes have been staged (with more, including a VH1 Divas special, planned). Yet, most eyes have remained fixed on how (if at all) the Urban music juggernaut would honor the woman who, in many ways, embedded the Black “voice” into the mainstream fabric. Indeed, it was her “voice” – whether singing Pop, Gospel, or R&B, that would go on to vocally style a generation. There is no word yet on who exactly will be enlisted to honor Houston. Source

Film to Show How Grammys Dealt With Whitney Houston's Death?A behind-the-scenes film on this year's 54th annual Grammy Awards will receive its world premiere June 11 at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood, Calif., with Dave Grohl, LL Cool J and Recording Academy president/CEO Neil Portnow scheduled to attend. "A Death in the Family: The Show Must Go On," a 26-minute documentary, is the first behind-the-scenes film on the Grammy Awards the Recording Academy has ever created, according to Ken Ehrlich, executive producer of the Grammy Awards telecast. The film covers the 48 hours between late Friday afternoon when Paul McCartney's performances were being rearranged, through the news of Whitney Houston's death on Saturday and rehearsals and re-write sessions on Sunday. The telecast attracted 39.9 million viewers making it the second largest audience to watch a Grammy Awards show. "There was greater interest than normal because of the circumstances, but an awful lot of people want to know about the process," Ehrlich tells Billboard. "We never said, 'let's look back.' It was incredible how much stuff we didn't have because there was little footage other than rehearsals. But we had some B-roll and we lucked out that film crew was following Paul McCartney."The film also includes interviews with Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson and Joe Walsh. "A Death in the Family: The Show Must Go On" will be posted on Grammy.com and plans are afoot to have it screened regularly at the Grammy Museum. Source
