Beyonce To Make Stage Return At Alicia Keys’ Black BallMay marked the return of Beyonce to the stage following the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy at the top of the year. However, fans hopeful to see more of the superstar thereafter were left somewhat disappointed when she returned to the normality of her day-to-day life. Indeed, the nearest her ever-loyal BeyHive got to a King B performance was her moshing in the pit of many a festival this Summer gone That’s all set to change come November, however. For, it has been announced that the ‘Crazy In Love’ singer will hit the stage at Alicia Keys‘ annual Black Ball gala. Details after the jump… According to the Associated Press, the 31 year old and Carole King will perform at the November 1st fundraiser which is held each year to benefit Keys’ Keep A Child Alive charity. Keys’ herself (whose new album ‘Girl On Fire’ arrives later that month on the 27th) will also take to the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom event, which this year honors Oprah Winfrey and Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo. The pair are being recognized for their philanthropic efforts. Actress and talk-show host Whoopi Goldberg will sere as the the night’s emcee. ******** As with all Ms. Carter performances, this is sure to be an event in itself. Needless to say, roll on November! Randomness: Ironically, it was at last year’s London Black Ball that we quizzed Alicia on the whereabouts of her and Beyonce ‘Put It In A Love Song’ video. We’ll share the footage of her response some day, one day. Until then, check out the ladies live performance of the track below… ThatGrapeJuice

Alicia Keys Debuts New Song ‘Brand New Me’ LiveWith Alicia Keys‘ eyes fixed firmly on the November 27th release of her new album ‘Girl On Fire’, the singer is leaving no stone unturned in her promotional push for the project. The aggressive jaunt has carried her to London town, where she rocked the iTunes Festival 2012 with a rousing set consisting of new and classic hits. Beautiful ballad ‘Brand New Me’ was one of the newer cuts the thousands in attendance were treated to. Listen to her show-stopping performance after the jump… Now that is more like it! ‘Girl On Fire’ didn’t pack heat enough to ignite our interest (or heat at all). Yet with ‘Brand New Me’, Ms. Keys taps into the emotional and musical ingredients that made ‘Songs In A Minor’ and ‘The Diary’ such delicious listens. What’s more, she sounds more at ease with the track’s vocal composition, which sees her deliver much of the song in her middle register (vs the upper register strains of ‘Fire’). Here’s hoping the album brings with it more of this flavoursome goodness. ThatGrapeJuice

New Video: Alicia Keys – ‘Girl On Fire’It's finally here! Set to serve as a much needed push for the single, Alicia Keys has finally released the video for her new single ‘Girl On Fire‘, lifted from her studio album of the same name. Does the visual live up to its hype? You decide below… Much like the cut itself, Keys’ visual is both rich in tone and texture, and will no doubt come as a welcome surprise to any who feared the clip would fail to live up to expectations. A little ‘Sade-ish’ by way of look, we’re entirely here for Alicia shying away from serving a literal interpretation of the lyrics, opting not to play the rebel we met in the song but an altruistic ‘Mary Poppins‘ esque character. A commentary on the ”Do It All‘ approach of the modern woman? Perhaps. All we know is, that save for ‘Karma’, ‘Girl‘ is easily her strongest video to date and has us itching to get our hands on its supporting LP. ThatGrapeJuice
