Mariah Carey Films Another “#Beautiful” Video with Young JeezyMariah Carey just can’t take a hint. As “#Beautiful” slowly sinks on the Billboard Hot 100 two and a half months since its debut, the songbird has prepared yet another video to support the record, this time for the Young Jeezy-assisted remix that she performed at the 2013 BET Awards. “#Beautiful” dipped one spot to #17 on the Hot 100 last week. The song has thus far peaked at #15 on the chart after first debuting at #24 in May, despite being bolstered by five remixes. Carey already released three videos for #Beautiful” – the original, explicit version and the Spanglish remix, “#Hermosa” – and instead of moving on to a new single, she has readied a fourth. Expect Carey’s highly anticipated The Art of Letting Go album to hit stores later this year. Listen to the Jeezy remix of “#Beautiful” video below: TheLavaLizard

Injured & Emotional Mariah Carey Performs at Sandy Relief ConcertForget her ever-growing list of imitators because there really is only one Mariah Carey. Despite nursing bruised ribs, a dislocated shoulder and temporary nerve damage in her left arm, the diva of all divas still performed at the MLB All-Star Charity Concert for Hurricane Sandy in Central Park yesterday. Carey was backed by the New York Philharmonic as she sang renditions of “My All”, “#Beautiful” and “Hero”. However, the real drama occurred during the first ever live performance of “Looking In” that moved Carey to tears as she sent a not so secret message to those wannabe critics who have been mocking her recent misfortunes. For the non-lambs in the building, “Looking In” was featured on the Daydream album and was never released as a single. “This requires a bit more stability than I have right now,” Carey said as she wiped away tears. “People who know it, sing along.” The thousands of fans who packed the Great Lawn were quite forgiving, though, and offered encouragement in the form of roaring cheers. Still, although she sang every note in her set live, Carey was forced to axe “We Belong Together” from the lineup, citing painful breathing issues as the reason. Regardless, those problems didn’t stop her looking her best, and she covered her wounds with Gucci feathers and jewels. Watch more of Carey’s performances from the MLB All-Star Charity Concert below: “#Beautiful” “Hero” TheLavaLizard

Mariah Carey Readies New Album, More ‘#Beautiful’ Remixes Yesterday was supposed to bring with it the release of Mariah Carey's fourteenth studio album ‘The Art Of Letting Go’. However, as reported, the premium diva has yet master the art – instead pushing back the project to ensure it’s “just right”. This, though, hasn’t halted her hustle when it comes to the LP’s lead single ‘#Beautiful’. A moderate hit (which peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100), the track easily serves as Mimi’s biggest success in years; a fact which likely explains why she’s milking it for all its worth. In new audio update for fans (recorded on the day ‘Letting Go’ was supposed to hit stores), the mother of two explains that not only is she still hard at work on the album, she’s gearing up to debuted even more remixes of its breezy first offering (she’s already released more than five). Listen to Ms. Carey-Cannon’s message after the jump… soundcloud.com/mariahcarey/mariah-carey-voice-message-toOh Mariah. Granted we just about understand her rationale for scrapping the LP’s initial release (key word “understand”, not “agree)”, the continued pushing of ‘#Beautiful’ not only doesn’t make sense, it’s beginning to grate. For, while it was indeed a “hit”, there are a few points that shouldn’t be swept under the rug. The first being that it was essentially a manufactured “hit” launched (and arguably sustained) by a costly radio deal. Then, of course, there’s the fact that the remixes are doing all of nothing chart-wise. Above all, though, response to the track – while generally favourable – was by no means “overwhelming”. Put simply, it’s in no way a ‘We Belong Together’ – commercially nor critically. A fact which makes the overt pushing come off somewhat desperate. Surely, Team Mimi would’ve have been better off serving up something else in the window created by the album’s delay to tide folk over; something different for the fans not necessarily “wowed” by ‘#Beautiful’. To be fair, it’s clear that what’s they’re trying to do with this song and its one million remixes, yet -in putting it bluntly-the track feels totally undeserving. Whether Team MC's “shove it down your throat ’til you love it” approach proves worth it come album release will be interesting to see. Especially given that a multitude of mega-sellers are prepping new LP’s for the same window as Mimi (see: Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Britney Spears). Then, of course, there’s Ariana Grande, but hey that’s a conversation for another day… ThatGrapeJuice

From The Vault: Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men – ‘One Sweet Day’After a brief rest on the bench, From The Vault is back this week with one of the most successful releases of the 1990′s. It’s Mariah Carey's melismatic ‘One Sweet Day’, her smash duet with R&B’s finest Boyz II Men. The second single lifted from Mimi’s blockbuster LP ‘Daydream’, ‘Day’s production was cooked up by Carey and former fervent collaborator Walter Afanasieff. It was written by the dynamic duo alongside the R&B quad about specific loved ones who passed away. Most notably, it was also penned with people affected by the AIDS epidemic in mind – in a bid to raise awareness. On a chart front, the single remains a landmark to this day; it debuted at #1 – which was the singer’s second consecutive single to do so. Yet, most importantly, it is the longest running #1 single on Billboard Hot 100 of all time, totaling an impressive 16 consecutive weeks at the top. It became Mimi’s tenth chart-topper on that tally and the Boyz’ fourth. (Fun fact: the single replaced Whitney Houston’s ‘Exhale (Shoop Shoop)’ at #1 and was replaced by Celine Dion’s ‘Because You Love Me’. Needless to say, power ballads staged a “chart stampede” during the mid-nineties).A true world smash, it managed to peak inside the Top 10 in many European countries and remains a fixture on “talent shows” all around the globe. ************ With the success and the critical acclaim the single and its parent album had received, it was believed Mariah was a shoe-in for a Grammy sweep after being nominated 6 times in 1996, but all those assumptions were cut short when the ‘Outside’ vocalist went home empty-ended on Grammy night. An injustice if we’ve ever seen one. Given that Mimi and the Boyz were enjoying gargantuan success in their own rights, busy schedules meant both parties didn’t have time to shoot a proper music video for the single. So in order to make the most of their tenure together, Larry Jordan was in charge of documenting the conception of the track. This edited footage was turned into the track’s “video”. Its raw quality suited the heartfelt song to the tee, choosing to put the emphasis on the group bonding and the song’s almost other-worldly vocals, rather than drowning everything in “glamorous” and “sophisticated” sets – ala some of Mariah’s more outlandish visuals since her post-Butterfly days. With “The New Era” nigh, we can’t wait for Ms. Carey-Cannon to unleash it. Did ‘Triumphant (Get ‘Em)’ make the cut? What about ‘Almost Home’? Are we in for some more Adult Contemporary numbers in the vein of ‘#Beautiful’? Are there any other collaborations to help her on the charts? We guess it’s a matter of time until we find out. Hopefully. Still, we’re hoping her ever-loyal ‘Lambily’ and we – over at TGJ HQ – aren’t the only ones anticipating new Mimi. Album and single sales will tell, ay? ThatGrapeJuice

New Mariah Carey Single To Feature Wale?
Mariah Carey may have christened her fourteenth studio album ‘The Art Of Letting Go’, however the premium diva is seemingly finding it hard to do away with her fetish for Hip-Hop features.
See what we mean after the jump…
Taking to Twitter today, Maybach Music star wrote:

Granted Mimi has a seasoned history blending the best of R&B and Hip-Hop (see: ‘Fantasy’, ‘Butterfly’ album onwards), the general consensus seems to be that she’s milked that cow dry. Indeed, many are angling for a commercially viable spin on “Adult Contemporary” with this new project.
Still, being the fair and unbiased outlet we are, we won’t christen this ‘Triumphant (Part 2)’ just yet. After all, the odds of a Mariah/Dupri concoction being a hit remain sky-high.
Stay tuned!

Hilarious: Mariah Carey Joins Nick Cannon On ‘Wild’N'Out’Let's face it, Mariah Carey‘s run on American Idol’s twelfth season was unfortunate to say the least.
Billed pregnant dogy by some and boring by most, her time on the hit series went a long way to prove that Mariah‘s at best on stage, performing the classics that place her head and shoulders above Pop’s more personable purveyors.
So, as she prepares to take on Lady GaGa, Britney Spears and Katy Perry with her brand new album in the fourth quarter, she made a hilarious appearance on MTV2′s ‘Wild’N'Out‘, joining its star and her husband Nick Cannon.
Press play for an upbeat Mimi below!

Arsenio Hall Wants Mariah Carey To Appear On New Show"The Arsenio Hall Show" is coming back to TV this fall after almost 20 years since it last signed off. Like the "Arsenio" of the past, the one-hour show will feature a mix of comedy, music and interviews with celebrity guests.
He does plan to bring back some of his old show's biggest guests, including Mariah Carey, who made her very first television appearance on Hall's program in September 1990.
She performed her single, "Vision of Love," but Hall said that due to her then-manager Tommy Mottola, he got cheated out of interviewing her.
"I remember ... saying, 'Tommy I want to ask Mariah this tonight.' And I would get a message back, 'Not only can you not ask her that, but you're not interviewing her tonight,' " Hall said.
"I never had the interview with Mariah that I always wanted to have. And now it’s even better because it's been 20 years and she's still relevant and I’m proud of that. So I look forward to doing the interview I never got to do, the uncontrolled one where I get to sit with her and really kick it."
