Report: Katy Perry’s New Album Titled ‘Prism’And it begins. Katy Perry has officially thrown her name into the hat of major names releasing new projects this year. Multiple sources confirmed that the ‘California Gurls’ singer was working on her third studio album and it now appears the said LP’s accompanying campaign is already underway. Within a short window of time today, an array of names (including Adam Lambert and Perry’s stylist) shared the shot below which appears to bear both the title and release date of the follow-up to 2010′s ‘Teenage Dream’. Check it out below… {Album title: Prism / Release Date: October 22nd 2013} Seemingly confirming the news herself, Perry also appeared to lend insight into the concept of the campaign when tweeted the following minutes ago: *********** We’re entirely “here” for the unique roll-out. If only more acts would embrace such creative launches. Then again, few have the corporate machine that is no doubt behind this project. Here’s hoping the material delivers, though. Because, as we’ve seen countless times, ample coinage doesn’t matter if the songs are crap. We doubt this will be a problem the 28-year old will have if the list of producers lined up for her new album is anything to go by (see: Dr. Luke, Bonnie McKee, among others). {Source}ThatGrapeJuice

#BeyInspired: Katy Perry Teases Familiar Looking Fragrance CommercialAfter announcing ‘Prism’ as the title of her third studio album, Pop force Katy Perry is the hottest of topics today. However, the Billboard staple has tongues wagging for another reason too — the teasers for her new fragrance ‘Killer Queen’. Unwrapped moments ago, the royal-themed visual snippets have drawn many a gasp for their marked resemblance to Beyoncé's ‘Mrs. Carter Show Tour’ commercial. See what we mean after the jump… Hmm. Before digressing, it’s important to note that both pieces were shot by the same director, Jonas Akerlund – which may explain the similarities. However, we’re left scratching our heads as to whether it was deliberate to whip up controversy or lazy referencing that backfired. After all, there’s valid reason enough to justify both. On the one hand, Perry (who is a super vocal King B supporter) could have cooked up a tongue in cheek nod to the “original” in a bid to drum up conversation such as the one we’re having right now (on time for her new single / album, we must add). Yet, if not, this wouldn’t be the first time a director has referenced their own work, leaving egg on the face of the second in line. In any case, peep Beyoncé's ad below and let us know what YOU think… ThatGrapeJuice

Katy Perry Fingers August 9th For New Single / Eyes GaGa Fuelled Chart BattleCompetition this way comes. As the Monsters prepare to get its hands on Lady GaGa's brand new single ‘Applause’, today saw the song find fresh competition in Katy Perry, and the first single to be pulled from her new album ‘Prism’. Why, you ask? Details below… Exactly ten days before GaGa drops ‘Applause’, Perry will release her new single ‘Roar’ to the world via radio, and to iTunes no more than a week later. Throwing both cuts into the ring and forcing them to compete, their similar release windows will come before the October 22nd release of the aforementioned ‘Prism’, giving Katy less time than GaGa has given herself to push her single and album. For, with ‘ARTPOP’ dropping on November 19th, the Italian American Pop Princess set aside three months between the launch of the single and album to promote, one more than Perry has enlisted to ensure her releases truly pop! So….. Source.Who do you think will come out on top? ThatGrapeJuice

Katy Perry On Rihanna: ‘My Days Of Celebrity Saving Are Over’
‘Elle’ magazine welcomes Katy Perry to its home this month, rocking their September 2013 issue- as seen here.
Alas, while the bulk of her time with the mag saw her keep it light, bright and beautiful, things took an interesting turn when the 'Prism' Princess was quizzed on her relationship with fellow singer Rihanna.
Her words below…
When asked on the status of their friendship, Perry explained:
“I love her [Rihanna] and every time I see her, I’m reminded of the light that she has. There’s a lot of dark in this business. I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages they are the root of their demise. It's really unfortunate but you can’t save these people. My days of celebrity saving are over.”
Perry’s take on the ‘Love Song’ singer comes weeks before the release of her brand new single, ‘Roar’ and two months before the launch of her new album, ‘Prism’- the follow up to 2010′s 'Teenage Dream'.
So, let us know…

Katy Perry Teases “Roar” Single, Announces Third Coming
Katy Perry is the perfect example of a clever visual artist. With her new single, “Roar”, on its way, the singer-songwriter is utilizing social media to hype its arrival, specifically Twitter and YouTube. In fact, she released her latest teaser for the song just moments ago.
“The Third Coming” depicts Perry attending her own funeral as she says goodbye the colourful persona she developed during the Teenage Dream era of her career. Now, she is darker and more mature, thus perfectly channeling the vibe of her Madonna-inspired Prism album, which will hit stores on October 22.
“Roar” will impact iTunes on August 12. Watch Perry usher say goodbye to her former self in “The Third Coming” below: TheLavaLizard

Katy Perry Unwraps ‘Roar’ Single Cover
With a bevy of Pop titans readying their respective comebacks for the Fall, Katy Perry is wasting no time kicking off the campaign for her effort ‘Roar’.
Fresh from teasing and titillating with a series of video previews, the Billboard belle revealed the official cover for the single -the first from new album ‘Prism’ – today. Smartly, the artwork was initially only viewable when fans pre-ordered the Dr. Luke cut on iTunes:
As longtime readers will know, we love us a well-planned project here at TGJ and oh is Ms. Perry delivering. Granted her campaign likely boasts many more zero’s than most, the following remains valid: if pushed like a hit, a song will likely become one upon its arrival. It’s a memo we wish more of the folk promoting projects these days will digest.
Anyway, ‘Roar’ arrives August 12th. We’re buzzed. Are you?

Katy Perry Dons Satin Cape in “Roar” Teaser
Now we know where Katy Perry got her look her single cover for her new song, “Roar”. In this latest teaser, entitled “Satin Cape”, the singer shows walks into a shadowy studio to record her music in the tiger-stamped jacket that she clearly borrowed from a thrift shop of 1980s memorabilia.
Expect to hear “Roar” for the first time when it impacts on iTunes on August 12. Perry will later release her Prism album on October 22. I’m tired of repeating myself, so watch the latest teaser for the song below:

New Song: Katy Perry – “Roar”
Social media are artists’ most useful tools but there are times when that power is used against them by their own overzealous fans. Such was the case with the most followed woman on Twitter, Katy Perry, today when her new song, “Roar”, hit the web two days ahead of schedule.
Perhaps, the early arrival of “Roar” is a bittersweet blessing because it gives us the chance to determine if the track should be downloaded from iTunes on its official due date, August 12. Is the song really worth $1.29 or should Perry have scrapped it along with her poorly reviewed fragrances? Listen to “Roar” below:
soundcloud.com/tnt-10/kpnrim
“Roar” is yet another predictable Pop anthem based on catchy melodies and a radio-friendly beats instead of lyrical depth. How exactly is this song different from Perry’s pervious material? How does it exemplify the darker, more introspective sound of the late 1990s Madonna?
Regardless of the lack of artistic progression, “Roar” is almost guaranteed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. On the heels of the incredibly successful Teenage Dream era, it is almost impossible for Perry to fail at this point and “Roar” is the perfect type of Pop fodder for Top 40/Mainstream radio.
Hey, at least “Roar” is not tacky EDM. Get money, Perry, but I hope the rest of your Prism album (due on October 22) doesn’t sound like this.

Lady GaGa & Katy Perry Tweet Each Other About New Singles
As two of the most hyped releases of the year, Lady GaGa and Katy Perry‘s respective projects - ‘ARTPOP’ and ‘Prism’ - are being pit against each other by critics and fans alike.
And we’re not against it. At all.
Purists can sing Kumbaya all day long, yet the fact remains: there is only one top spot. Indeed, given the similar lanes the ladies play in (not to mention the overlapping of their release windows), this is very much a head-on collision. A clash of the titans, if you will.
And while it’s certain that the divas (and their teams) are well-versed in this, it appears they’re playing a game of “sugar, spice, and all things nice”. For now.
Taking to Twitter, the Billboard belles discussed each other’s new singles (‘Applause’ and ‘Roar’ respectively).
Responding to the “coincidental” leak of both songs yesterday, GaGa initiated the chat by writing:
Perry responded, sharing her excitement for ‘Applause’ (which arrives in full on August 19th):
Perhaps our cynicism got the best of us and the ladies actually do share a mutual excitement for each other’s projects. Who knows. For now, though, we’ll file this one under “I’ll Share My Fanbase, If You Share Yours”.
‘Prism’ arrives on October 22nd, while ‘ARTPOP’ hits stores on November 11th. Their lead singles, ‘Roar’ and ‘Applause’, impact iTunes on August 12th and August 19th respectively.

Katy Perry Secures Clear Channel Deal For ‘Roar’
Competition.
While performers may deny it fervently, they well and truly are in direct competition with each other.
An obvious sentiment? Perhaps.
However, with many of today’s acts sharing one other’s ‘casual audience’, it’s oft in the interest of these acts to create the illusion of mutual support at face value, while their teams forge plans to see their act outperform the other on the back end.
A little dramatic on our end? Well, tell that to Katy Perry- the Pop Princess whose inked an exciting new deal with Clear Channel to ensure her new single ‘Roar’ dominates US radio!
With the threat of Lady GaGa’s ‘Applause’ all too potent, Perry has inked a deal with Clear Channel- forging an arrangement whose terms will come into fruition today!
To be specific, 12pm today will see Clear spin ‘Roar’ every hour on the hour on all participating radio stations that the mass media companies own.
How many they own?
850.
Giving US consumers no choice but to consume the uplifting release, this deal will see the number soar on the Billboard Hot 100 this week thanks to its initial airplay surge.
However, in what will guarantee an impressive ascent on the tally, its digital download sales will only be taken into account next week- on course to snatch the top spot from Robin Thicke‘s smash hit single ‘Blurred Lines’.
Needless to say, Camp Perry are leaving nothing to chance this time around, realizing that while GaGa will fare far better than she will on the ’200′, Katy always shone brightest in the Hot 100- hence the moves they’ve put in place to ensure she wins there.
