Teaser: Katy Perry – ‘Roar’ VideoKaty Perry is currently queen of the charts thanks to new single ‘Roar’. It’s fairly fitting, then, that the cut’s accompanying video will see the singer appear as queen of the jungle.
See what we mean after the jump, where a freshly released teaser for the visual awaits..
Interesting. Definitely not what we envisioned, especially in light of the darker “vibe” Perry claims new album ‘Prism’ will boast. In any case, we’ll reserve full judgment until seeing the video in its entirety – which will likely be any day now.
‘Prism’ hits stores October 22nd.

Katy Perry Goes Wild in the New Promo Poster for 'Roar' (Twitter) On the heels of her boxing-inspired MTV VMA's performance, Katy Perry has revealed a bit more about that "Roar" video she's been teasing lately.
On Friday, the singer posted this poster (below) to Twitter along with the caption "THE #ROAR MUSIC VIDEO IS COMING TO YOU IN JUNGLESCOPE SEPT 5TH!"
The poster reimagines Perry as if she were in the 1918 action adventure film Tarzan of the Apes. The image also features some pretty awesome renditions of a tiger, elephant, monkey, alligator, and, is that a male love interest we spot?
Check out the new promo poster below and let us know if you're excited for Perry's upcoming wild adventure. ZIMBIO

Katy Perry Tops Billboard Hot 100 With ‘Roar’
She’s finally done it!
After seeing her attempts to new single ‘Roar’ to #1 thwarted by Robin Thicke‘s Hot 100 domination with ‘Blurred Lines’, Katy Perry has seen her hard work pay off this week.
Yes, that’s right.
It’s #1!
Full story below…
Four weeks after its release, ‘Roar‘ has now rocketed to #1 on the Hot 100, snatching the top spot away from Thicke to be crowned the highest selling single in the country this week!
Outperforming Eminem’s meteoric smash ‘Berzerk (#3)’, ‘Roar’s rise also sees her fight off competition from Miley Cyrus‘ ‘We Can’t Stop’ which- quite interestingly- dropped a spot following her VMA performance, now perched at #4 in its thirteenth week of release!
Elsewhere, John Legend reigns supreme on iTunes R&B with his new single ‘All of Me‘, while his new LP ‘Love in the Future’ secures the #4 spot on the chart’s albums tally, helped in part great part by the momentum surrounding the romantic number.

Katy Perry Unwraps ‘Prism’ Album Cover
With new single ‘Roar’ doing just that on charts the world over, Katy Perry builds on her buzz by revealing the artwork for its parent album - ‘Prism’.
The colorful cover was unveiled moments ago on Good Morning America and – like Perry – is sure to set tongues wagging. It’s not rocking our world (and neither did ‘Roar’), yet given the wealth of momentum the project has already, we doubt it’ll stop the LP from blazing the Billboard charts when it arrives on October 22nd.

Album Cover: Katy Perry – ‘Prism’
Fresh off the premiere of her “Roar” video, Katy Perry unveiled the surprisingly cheap cover of the song’s parent album, Prism, which is set to be released on October 22. However, before the music hits stores, Perry is hosting a special competition for her fans as she announced on Good Morning America today.
Perry is giving her high school followers the opportunity to create and submit their own videos for “Roar”. The winning school will be treated to a live performance by the singer on her October 25 birthday as well as a visit by the cast of Good Morning America. I wonder if Perry will introduce the children to her jungle friends?
If you’re a high school student and excited for the chance to hear Perry sing off-key in person, then fire up those cameras and get ready to roar. Watch her explain the rules of her contest on GMA below:

Katy Perry's Future 'Prism' Hits Capitol Records hosted an industry listening party, or a "'Prism' preview," as Katy Perry dubbed it on the spot, Thursday (Sept. 5) at Solo in New York. Capitol Music Group executive VP Greg Thompson hosted the proceedings onstage with the star.
Here's a sampling of guests' reaction to hearing 11 tracks from the album for the first time, offered a variety of answers as to what songs should be released as singles.
Justin Prager, Music Choice director/music and talent: "You can hear a maturity all over 'Prism.' 'Roar' is a great start and there are other gems like 'Double Rainbow,' 'Legendary Lover' and my choice for the next single, 'This Is How We Do.' "I'm glad that Perry didn't go too deep into the current EDM sound. She instead went for more of a '90s house vibe on a few tracks. Overall, though, the album is pop."
Dylan Sprague, WXKS (Kiss 108) Boston PD: "I really like 'Dark Horse,' with Juicy J. The last song of the night, ballad 'By the Grace of God,' stood out, too. "Multiple hits, no doubt."
Ellen Carvello, Carvello Music Management: "There seem to be many hits on this album. Beyond 'Roar,' which is amazing, I really like her homage to CeCe thingyton and Crystal Waters. "Following 'Teenage Dream' is tough but she brought us some great pop music. She makes fun music that we can sing along to. That's what it's all about."

Rocker Courtney Love Slams Katy Perry: ‘[She] Bores The Sh*t Out of Me’Hole hitmaker Courtney Love has long made a career of digging herself into just that with her well of oft-controversial comments on pop music’s top divas.
With a career filled with headlines more for the happenings of her life than her music, Love continues to keep that fire aflame by calling out ‘Roar’ songstress Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Robin Thicke.
Lending her opinion on the VMAs and pop’s current climate all together, see the comments Courtney imparted that got KatyCats up in a fury in defense of their leader after the jump:
Via Gigwise:
“I liked Miley, frankly. I’m gonna be honest, Katy Perry bores the sh*t out of me. She’s a nice girl, she just really bores me,” the 49-year-old rock star told the crowd, according to the New York Post.
“[Perry] bores me. [Miley] was at least kind of punk rock, you know? It was openly sexual . . . like dark and hillbilly and f**ked up.”
”Can someone inform me who Alan Thicke’s son is? Like what? Wasn’t he on ‘Charles in Charge?’ That’s like Jared Leto trying to convince me he’s a rock star.”
Is it the drugs & alcohol talking or do you agree with Courtney?
