Adele Flips the Bird at Brit Music Awards Adele just went M.I.A.! An angry Adele gave the middle finger at the Brit Awards for music Tuesday night in London, two weeks after rapper M.I.A. gave the same obscene gesture at the Super Bowl halftime show. It happened as Adele, 23, was picking up the best album award to go with her solo female honor and was giving her acceptance speech. "I am so proud to be British and to be flying the flag," she was saying when host James Corden interrupted her to introduce the '90s British pop band Blur. The crowd booed and Adele digitally expressed herself. The multiple-Grammy winner explained that she wasn't directing her scorn at the audience. "I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans," she said, according to the BBC. "I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me."Source

Anyone think she is over-rated, like I do?
And that her album, only really, has 3 decent songs on it?

Adele's '21' Is Longest-Running No. 1 Album Since 'Purple Rain' Adele's "21" album spends a 22nd week atop the Billboard 200 chart, selling 297,000 (down 59%) according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's now the longest-running No. 1 since Prince & the Revolution's "Purple Rain" soundtrack scored 24 weeks at No. 1 in 1984 and 1985. This is also "21's" ninth consecutive week at No. 1, the most in-a-row frames at No. 1 since the "Titanic" soundtrack racked 14-straight in 1998. "21," released just over a year ago in the U.S., has now sold 7.65 million in the U.S. Of that figure, 1.83 million were shifted in 2012. Adele's '21' Going for 23rd Week at No. 1! Adele's "21" album seems on course to spend a 23rd week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, so say industry sources. The set could sell over 200,000 by week's end on Sunday, March 4th. It will likely keep Whitney Houston's "Whitney: the Greatest Hits" at bay, which has been No. 2 on the Billboard 200 for the past two weeks. This past week, Houston's album moved 174,000 (down 1%), while "21" sold 297,000 (down 59%). The highest new entry on next week's chart will come from Kid Cudi and producer Dot da Genius' "WZRD" album, which may sell around 70,000 copies, per sources. The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, March 7th. Source

Adele Believes Her New Mansion Is Haunted? Is Adele as unlucky in matters of real estate as she previously was in love? The six-time Grammy winner, 23, recently moved into a £7 million home in Sussex, England (more than $11 million), but now is afraid to sleep there alone because she believes it's haunted, according to British tabloid The Sun. Adele allegedly told a friend the house "gives me the creeps" after she heard a few things going bump in the night, and has moved her female bodyguard into the 10-bedroom mansion for protection at a reported annual rate of £100,000. The singer also hired two additional security personnel to guard the 25-acre property, which used to be a convent and has a private chapel as well as two swimming pools, reports The Sun. "Adele was so excited to be renting such a lavish property but it has not turned out as happily as it should have," a friend of the singer's told The Sun. "She is convinced it is haunted. She knows about its religious history – and it's a big place to be in on your own in the dead of night."A rep for the singer had no comment. Last month, while giving Anderson Cooper a tour of the home for a 60 Minutes segment, Adele reportedly quipped about a dark hallway: "This bit is quite scary. ... Have you ever heard of The Shining?"Source

Adele Talks Next Single, Beyonce Collaboration Hopes"I adore Beyonce, I've been listening to her since I was about 11," the "Someone Like You" singer told French radio station NRJ. "I think her work as an artist and a singer is enviable in terms of the length of her career and how she's grown and grown, but most of my inspirations are [from] old music and sadly they have all died."According to an earlier report in the Sun, the DIVAS were reportedly slated to sing together during Beyonce's performance at the 2011 Glastonbury Festival, but vocal issues led Adele to cancel. She underwent vocal cord surgery in November before making an impressive live comeback at February's Grammys. And after joking about taking a half-decade to follow up the chart-topping, Grammy-winning "21," Adele now says her next full-length will take "a good two years.""If I didn't write my own songs, I'd be out next week with a new album," she told NRJ. "I have to take time and live a little bit. There were a good two years between my first and second albums, so it'll be the same this time."However, she did promise a new single, "probably by the end of the year" -- a track the BBC predicts could be the theme song for the next James Bond film, "Skyfall." 007's latest is due in theaters Nov. 9, 2012. Adele's '21' Heading Back to No. 1 On Billboard For 24th Week!Adele's titanic-selling "21" album is looking likely to return to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for a 24th nonconsecutive week. While it's too early to tell just how much it will sell by week's end on Sunday, April 15, a figure in the range of 110,000 to 130,000 is possible. The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, April 18. If "21" returns to the top, it will mark the longest reign at No. 1 since Prince and the Revolution's "Purple Rain" soundtrack also spent 24 frames at the top in 1984 and 1985. Additionally, "21" would become one of only eight albums to rack six months atop the list. "21" has now sold 8.64 million copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan and ranks as the 33rd biggest seller since the company began tracking sales in 1991. The largest-selling album in the SoundScan era is Metallica's "Metallica," released in 1991, which has moved 15.77 million. In terms of albums that were released this week that are looking to debut in the top 10 next week, a pair of titles may pop into the region. Source

Adele's '21' May Return to No. 1, In Time for Mother's DayAdele's "21" album has never left the Billboard 200 chart's top 10 in its entire 63-week run. And now it's looking like it has the chance to return to No. 1 for a 24th week. The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, May 16th. With a lack of big-name new releases out yesterday (May 8), Adele's "21" is going up against the current leader, Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away," for the top slot next week. With the Mother's Day holiday falling at the end of the tracking week (Sunday, May 13), a good many shoppers may find that "Blown Away" or "21" are the perfect gift for the mom in their lives. (Yes, despite how "21" is closing in on 9 million U.S. sales according to Nielsen SoundScan, there are still many that don't own the album yet.) Source

Adele Set for NBC Interview Special With Matt LauerAfter months of lying low following her fall throat surgery, Adele is running headfirst into the spotlight with her own hour-long NBC special, to air next month. The feature, "Adele Live in London with Matt Lauer," will feature an exclusive interview and several performances from her "Adele Live At The Royal Albert Hall" DVD. NBC has released a preview of the interview (above), which has the British star dishing on celebrity pals, joking about the four pairs of Spanx she wore to the Grammys, discussing the crazy rumors that surround her on a daily basis, and reliving the time she walked through "tourist central" in London, terrified that someone would recognize her. She was wearing color and pajamas -- both definite don't's for the black-wearing superstar -- so naturally, no one knew who she was. One of the biggest stars in the world, notoriously media-shy Adele has not only won eight Grammy Awards, but her latest album, 2011's "21," has sold 8,986,000 copies to date according to Nielsen SoundScan.
