Confirmed: Adele To Perform At Oscars 2013 Adele may be on a musical hiatus as she adapts to life as a mother, but that hasn’t stopped the performance requests from flowing in. For, after much ado about whether the Londoner would take to the stage at the Golden Globes or the Oscars this year, it has been confirmed that the 24 year old will perform at the latter on February 24th. Details after the jump… Crowing almost two years at the top, the singer will perform ‘Skyfall’ at the 85th Annual Academy Awards in honor of the blockbuster James Bond movie of the same name. The song, which hit top ten on many a global singles tally last Fall, is nominated in the Best Original Song category – and is the first “Bond song” to do so since 1981. Speaking on both her performance and nomination, she said: “It’s an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again. It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!”- Via Adele/XL Recordings******* With the Grammy’s and Super Bowl looming too, next month is shaping up to be a great one for music fans. Needless to say, we can’t wait to see Adele shut it down! Pending then, listen to ‘Skyfall’ below… ThatGrapeJuice

Sore LOSER Chris Brown Gets a Talking To From Adele! If you didn't already love Adele, here is one more reason to add to the list. At the Grammys on Sunday evening, Adele didn't hold back after she saw Chris Brown snub singer Frank Ocean's win. Sore loser stayed seated as Frank Ocean took to the stage to accept his first ever Grammy and refused to join in the standing ovation. The 24-year-old new mother, could be seen staring across at the singer, shaking her head, and soon after appeared to give Brown, 23, a piece of her mind. As Frank made his way to the stage to collect the award for Best Urban Contemporary Album - a category which Chris was also nominated in - Chris opted to stay seated while the rest of the audience gave the singer a rousing standing ovation. Slightly embarrassed, Brown looked like he was trying to explain himself to Adele as he reached out to grab her hand, but the songstress continued to say her piece. However, Adele clearly did not hold Brown's rude behavior against him as the pair were later hugging as they posed rather stiffly for a picture together. Adele also made sure to get a picture with two time Grammy award-winner Frank, who rounded off his night by making the first televised performance of his Channel Orange song "Forrest Gump." Source

Adele Talks Early Stages Of New MusicSpeaking with reporters backstage at the Grammys on Sunday, Adele offered up a brief update on progress for her untitled third studio album. "I'm not very far along at all," she admitted. "I'm having lots of meetings. I've been in L.A. for the whole time since the (Golden) Globes, and I will be until the Oscars. I've been having lots of meetings. I've been out of the loop really. I've been singing my baby nursery rhymes, so I don't really know what's cool and what's not."I'm definitely going to visit Paul Epworth and stuff like that again."Epworth produced and co-wrote a number of tracks on Adele's "21," including "Rolling in the Deep," which topped the Hot 100 for a staggering seven weeks. Adele gave birth to her first child, a baby boy, on October 19, 2012. Though it's been two years since the release of "21," the singer is still riding high from its success. Adele walked away with the Grammy for Best Solo Pop Performance for the song "Set Fire to the Rain" and presented the evening's final award, Album of the Year. Source

Watch: Adele Amazes Academy Awards Audience With ‘Skyfall’ PerformanceAdele made a triumphant return to stage at tonight’s Academy Awards showing with a stunning performance of her nominated hit ‘Skyfall’ – the title theme song to the latest film in the James Bond series. Looking to show off her well-praised chops post-baby, tuck in below to see how Brit-bred beauty fared with her first televised performance of the hit song at the Seth MacFarlane-hosted event: There were parts of this performance Miss Adkins absolutely nailed. Lending her signature solemn stylings to the song, she certainly conveyed the song’s dramatics live while keeping the cool oft-associated with all things “Bond”. However, that very “cool” almost seemed to work against her in parts of the performance as it seemed anticlimactic, never completely building to “a moment”. And, honestly, there were times Adele just looked bored as hell. Either way, the performance proved an overall hit and reaffirms Adele’s position in a fluff-ridden industry. For that, we’ll take a hit-or-miss. ThatGrapeJuice

Adele’s '21' Eyes Shania Twain Record After Top 40 RevivalPhysical promotion for the album may have ceased over a year ago, but that hasn’t stopped Adele's sophomore album '21' eyeing a brand new chart record, after watching its sales last week push it back into the US Top 40. Full story below… As it stands, the Paul Epworth led piece now enjoys a total of 124 weeks in the US Top 40, while boasting sales of 25 million units worldwide. Now, after creeping its way to #35 on last week’s Billboard 200, it now stands a mere three weeks away from scoring the most weeks held in the Top 40, snatching that title away from Shania Twain's 1997 LP 'Come On Over'- which enjoys 127 weeks in that spot. Shifting 15.2 million units within the first two years of release, ‘Over’ now faces the threat of its record being pulled weeks after Twain confirmed the release of a brand new studio album here, and almost two decades after it was certified 12x Platinum in the UK after watching it sales surpass the 3 million mark in the market. So, let us know… Source. Will it hold its record? ThatGrapeJuice
